The Neural Correlates of Religious and Nonreligious Belief - Sam Harris, Jonas T. Kaplan

I read this more than a year ago. But I just found it is on this site and have to write a short review.

It is interesting how the human brain function when it comes to believing in something that is not there. This is more on imagination than data processing part of the brain (if I remembered correctly).

No one could accuse Sam Harris for not treating religious belief seriously. But treating it seriously and trying to comprehend how the brain function "light up" when a person believe or not believe in the imaginary god, bring this magical thinking part of human back to the human knowledge so that we could study and comprehend religious belief without buying into any magical thinking.

Good one. Read this online for free here.
