For Halloween Bingo, I read quite a few more books than expected, and some are usually not my thing.

Some nice surprise there.

5 Stars goodies

Darkly Dreaming Dexter - Jeff Lindsay  Good Omens - Terry Pratchett,Neil Gaiman   Career of Evil - Robert Galbraith

The Last Dragonslayer - Jasper Fforde  Demon Road - Derek Landy  Odd Thomas - Dean Koontz

The Nowhere Man: An Orphan X Novel (Evan Smoak) - Gregg Hurwitz   The Drop - Michael Connelly

Dexter is just a good serial killer that is interesting in killing bad guys.

Strike in Career of Evil is the first detective with disability. Good one.

Evon is the Nowhere Man, a government trained young assassin try to find meaning in life by doing what he was trained to do for free and for the powerless.

Odd Thomas see ghost and deal with it in interesting way.

Harry Bosch is just good in his job that it is a joy to see him work in The Drop.

Jennifer Strange is a manager of a magical service agency, and also the last dragonslayer. Delightful.

Amber found out that her parents want to eat her in Demon Road, and she is a demon too.

Good Omen is just fun story on the anti-Christ who has his own mind. It is a re-read and it kind of feel differently the this time.

It is a pleasure to read these.

Good books too

Fleabag - Helen Stephens,Helen Stephens  Changes - Jim Butcher   Home - Harlan Coben

The Truth Is a Cave in the Black Mountains - Eddie Campbell,Neil Gaiman  Demon Road 02. Desolation - Derek Landy

Fleabag is a children book. Got my attention when I found it on YouTube read by Tom Hardy.

Changes is on how Dresden found out he has a daughter. Really good story.

Home is about a kidnapped boy returned as a young man. Is he real, or is it a fake?

The Truth Is a Cave in the Black Mountains is a story by Neil Gaiman. A dark story about a man going into a mountain to confront the killer of his daughter.

Amber continued her journey in Desolation. She is a demon by birth and still running away from the parents who tried to eat her.

2.5-3 stars

Broken Promise: A Thriller - Linwood Barclay  The Wolves of Midwinter - Anne Rice

David is a journalist who lost his wife and then his job. He is helping to discover where his cousin got her baby. Not a bright story, quite a bit of it doesn't make any sense.  The betrayal  is illogical and not enough motive to do so.

Reuben is the werewolf. The story could be interesting. Unfortunately, it got distracted on party and stuff. Not much is being developed to move the story along.

0.5-1 star

Horrible read. Just awful.

Binti - Nnedi Okorafor  Goodnight Nobody - Jennifer Weiner

Binti has the superstition that is unfit in sci-fi story. Also, the story does not make sense on why Binti is the one who would make peace after the non-humans kill everyone on board. The story does not make sense.

Kate Klein in Goodnight Nobody is a stupid woman, married with 3 children. She found a dead body and go about to find out who is the killer. But she is so stupid, illogical. The writers made all the women character stupid and desperate for sex. And they make look likes 2 dimensions character that are uninteresting. The most awful book I read in ages.

Overall, still a pretty good month.
