One Shot - Lee Child One shot started off with him being called to assist a guy who he knew was guilty of a serious crime 14 years ago. He wasn't a friend so he is quite willing to believe he is guilty. So, he got a bit of trouble, but someone who mistaken him as a friend of the accused. Big mistake. That is the plot of the story. Nice ending. The building up is not as good as we don't see from the side of the bad guys. But in the end, he still win.
